King Khan & The Shrines

Cultlegende King Khan neemt u mee op een tochtje met zijn magische tapijt doorheen een muzikale lichtmis vol punk, soul en funk. Na de albums 'What Is?!' (2007) en 'The Supreme Genius of King Khan and the Shrines' (2008) die door de unanieme pers op handen werden gedragen, komt King "Bama Lama" Kahn na zes jaar afwezigheid in de studio met een nieuw album aankloppen. 'Idle No More' toont dat ze het duidelijk nog niet hebben afgeleerd en brengt alweer een fijne mix van punk en oude, edele genres zoals funk en soul ter tafel. Ook Pitchfork heeft er mooie woorden voor over: "Even in the absence of any overt political sloganeering, Khan evinces a new sense of purpose here. The album’s first side counts as the most majestic music the King has produced, blowing up his garage-rock roots to a cinematic scale without losing the ballsy attitude.
