Making his debut on neighborhood rival turned friend, Lord Finesse's debut album "Funky Technician", Andre the Giant was introduced to Showbiz, a deejay/producer looking for an emcee. Together, Showbiz & AG dropped their first EP "Party Groove/Soul Clap" in 1991, formally introducing the world to the Diggin' In The Crates crew. After selling a respectable number of copies on their own, the duo was signed to Payday Records as the label's first group. The following year, they released their full-length "Runaway Slave" to critical acclaim but not much commercial success (as was the case with most DITC albums). Show & AG also released the subsequent albums "Goodfellas" (1995) on Payday and "Full Scale" (1998) on their own DITC Records label. AG has made plenty of appearances on his DITC brethren's albums, as well as such classics as Dilated Peoples' "Work the Angles Remix", Black Sheep's "E.F.F.E.C.T.", Mykill Miers' "Straight Dirt" and DJ Greyboy's "Hidden Crate/Hold Mines" single. In late 1999, AG released his first solo album called "The Dirty Version" on Silvadom Records. This album featured DITC members and spotlighted his Get Dirty 74 crew (Ghetto Dwellas). In the last couple years, AG has contributed production duties to Casual's new album, as well as vocals to tracks by Square One, OC, D7D Allstars & Wildlife. He's recently released a couple of singles entitled "God Made Dirt"/"Flip Shit" and "Back Street Rules"/"Get It Dusty", which feature vocals by the Ghetto Dwellas. Andre is currently at work on the next Show & AG album, which will be a follow-up to this years' CD release of "Full Scale", which included the songs from the EP, as well as various DITC and GD singles.
