Cass McCombs had al 8 (stuk voor stuk uitstekende) albums op zijn naam staan. Op 8 februari verscheen zijn negende, Tip of the Sphere, via ANTI- Records. McCombs' prachtige stem, die ergens het midden houdt tussen Harry Nilsson en Elliott Smith, raakt je als vanouds tot op het bot. De pers is zo goed als altijd laaiend enthousiast over zijn werk, en dat is voor dit album niet anders:
