Diamond D

First getting into the business as a DJ for Jazzy Jay of the Zulu Nation in 1989, Diamond was known as the neighborhood kid who came with "some extraordinary, other shit" according to Lord Finesse. "While everyone was cutting all the hottest records, Diamond would come out with two Mickey Mouse records." After learning how to produce, Diamond formed the duo Ultimate Force with an MC named Master Rob and released the single "I Ain't Playing". In 1992, Diamond (& the Psychotic Neurotics) released his first album the classic LP "Stunts, Blunts and Hip Hop", produced and written by himself. Besides producing for his DITC partners, Diamond has contributed his production skills to artists such as Ras Kass ("Soul On Ice"), Brand Nubian ("Punks Jump Up Remix") A Tribe Called Quest ("Show Business"), Tha Alkaholiks ("Next Level"), The Fugees ("The Score") and House Of Pain ("Word Is Bond") among other artists. In 1997, Diamond released his follow-up album "Hatred, Passions & Infidelity" on Mercury Records. With little promotion for the album, Diamond left and started his own label, Dusty Fingers Records and released the singles "MC2/Hiatus Remix" and "With The Dope Sound/You're In the Wrong Place" spotlighting his crew the Fantastic Four (K Terroribul, John Dough, Big Red and Ras Kass). In 2001, Diamond released "Bootlegs & B-Sides" an instrumental LP which featured some of his greatest hits, including tracks with Ras Kass, Fugees, KRS-One, Xzibit & Scientifik. He also made an appearance on the Beatminerz album "Brace 4 Impak", on the track, "Best At That." He is currently working on an album with longtime collaborator Sadat X, for whom he produced "X-Man" and "You Can't Deny", on his "Derek Murphy Vs. The State Of New York" EP. The group which is unaffiliated with the rest of DITC's recent change to Wildlife, is called The Omen and also includes Kamari (formerly known as Big C). They have released two singles on Fat Beats Records, and the full-length album is on the way, as is another Diamond D LP, entitled "The Family" which will feature contributions from K Terroribul, Mark 45 King, Brick Dawson (John Dough) and The Omen.
