Oddisee^(US)

De Amerikaan met Sudanese roots werd geboren in Washington DC en groeide op met de sound van de New Yorkse hiphop – East Coast all the way!

People Hear What They See, zijn eerste echt succesvolle album (2012, Mello Music), gaf het startschot van een -nu al- fantastische carrière: topalbums (The Good Fight! The Beauty In All!), een mooie collectie mixtapes en samenwerkingen met o.a. Flying Lotus, De La Soul en Hudson Mohawke. 

In 2015 toonde hij op The Good Fight hoe hij klinkt met liveband, en dankzij Odd Tape (2016) weten we waartoe hij met beats in staat is. Nog in 2016 bracht hij Alwasta EP uit; dit jaar volgde The Iceberg. In het nummer 'Lifting Shadows' vraagt hij zich af of de regering hem afluistert, en waagt hij zich aan politieke kritiek: “That's what makes this country great, it's built by those who bleed / It's built by those who came on boats, it's built by those who flee… So if you just try to chop us down you only hurt your knees.”
