Promoe (looptroop)

Member of LOOPTROOP, who was formed in Västerås, Sweden, 1992. It consists of four members: Producer/DJ Embee and the lyricists Promoe, Cosm.i.c & Supreme. Looptroop was pioneers in the Swedish hip hop independent movement by showing that you can take things very far without any backup from record companies, managers or booking agencies. By releasing and distributing their own records, combined with a lot of performing at clubs and jams around the country, they built up a reputation far beyond the Swedish borders. In addition to all sizeble cities in Sweden, Looptroop have performed numerous times in Copenhagen, Aalborg, Arhus, Roskilde Festival-98 (Denmark), Oslo,Stavanger, Bergen (Norway), Helsinki (Finland), Reykjavik (Iceland), Hamburg, Wiesbaden, Stade (Germany). They' ve also done shows together with some top U.S acts such as: Company Flow, Pharoahe Monch, Artifacts, High & Mighty, Arsonists and Mass Influence. Looptroop´s previously released 12" records on their own label David vs. Goliath have been sold, and much appreciated by DJs, radio, fans and journalists throughout the whole Scandinavia and the rest of the world, particularly in England, Germany, Japan, Australia and the U.S. They have been featured in leading hiphop magazines such as HHC (England), Backspin (Germany) and Revolver (Australia) to name a few. In late 1998, Looptroop started to work on the album Modern Day City Symphony,wich contains all new material and shows off a significant development, bothlyrically and musically wise. They teamed up with DMC-champion DJ Noise and Freestyle from the Arsonists for a couple of tracks and the Swedish topmic-holders Timbuktu & Kekke Kulcha are also featured.
