Sad-boy-indie-rockband Blvck Hippie hythm-and-blues-and-indie. (uitgesproken als Black Hippie) uit Memphis, Tennessee maakt naar eigen zeggen muziek voor buitenbeentjes. Met hun stevige indiehouding, een talent om muzikale grenzen te verleggen en de weigering om de status quo te accepteren zoeken ze hun plek in de muziek. 

Op hun muzikale omzwervingen combineren ze rauwe zang met lo-fi gittaarrifs die doen je doen dagdromen. Zanger John Shaw neemt het publiek via hartverscheurende teksten en kwetsbare coupletten mee op een reis door zijn hoofd, langs escapisme, eenzaamheid en verdriet. 

Blvck Hippie bracht hun debuut LP If You Feel Alone At Parties uit in de herfst van 2021. Sindsdien toeren ze door de VS en hebben ze een plek voor zichzelf veroverd op festivalpodia, in kelders en overal daartussenin.
