Hypnoskull Vs Tunnel Live
Started in 1992 as an electronic industrial & noise project, hypnoskull was mainly active in the so-called network of industrial music, which basically was a network of individuals, labels and bands, who released difficult and someway obscure music on tape, and distributed it around the globe to others. After the ‘democratisation’ of the CD, labels started to switch from the tape to the acryl plate. Hypnoskull released about ten of those independent tapes before he signed to the German cult-label ant-zen records, started also in the nineties, and rapidly growing towards a status in the underground music scene. In the meanwhile Patrick Stevens created as a member of SONAR (B) hard industrial dance music, which became a solid act in the underground electronic industrial dance-scene. After the release of his first album ‘rhythmusmaschine 1-2’, he decided to concentrate on his own project hypnoskull and tunnel, which is more technoïd with vocals by his wife Mieke M. The follow-up ‘ffwd>burnout!’ on ant-zen is a rough mix of technoïd tracks and cold electro. Hypnoskull gains lots of attention in Germany, but also worldwide, with special focus of the newborn US-industrial techno scene, which will result in a 2000 US tour by the summer
