In 1996, the Killa Tactics turntablist crew, founded by the Riot Squad's Damented, Dysfunkshunal & Daranged set out on a mission to take the Belgian turntablism scene to a whole new level. Inspired by the skill and attitude of New York's X-Ecutioners, the Killa Teez withstood the public's early criticism and rose to be Belgium's number one dj crew, taking the turntablism discipline out of hiphop's shadows and into the dancehalls. Killa Tactics' innovative beat juggling techniques, fierce cuts & scratches and flawless team routines have opened the eyes of many. And they've got the battle rep -national and international- to show for it. Besides battling , Killa Tactics have kept the headz busy with wicked parties, showcases, radio shows and even workshops for the youths. Their impact on the hiphop scene can hardly be overstated. They've helped local turntablism escape its underground status and reveal itself as a true art that can even impress non hiphop crowds. The Killa Tactics crew has always strived to be more than just a live act. They've consistently released high quality mixtapes, made contributions to several hiphop compilations and have even released their very own breakbeat/dj tool record. Being producers as well as turntablists, they' ve also supplied phat hiphop tracks for the Riot Squad mc crews and other rap outfits such as Liège's Mata.
