Mothers, indierockband uit Athens, Georgia, staat op Big Next Weekend voor het eerst op een Belgisch podium. Debuutplaat When You Walk A Long Distance You Are Tired is uit sinds februari, en de band staat op SXSW.Stereogum is hun grootste fan: de band ontving er al titels als Band To Watch en Best New Band, en single 'It Hurts Until It Doesn't' kreeg er haar première. Debuutplaat When You Walk A Long Distance You Are Tired kwam in februari uit bij Wichita Recordings, eerste single was 'No Crying In Baseball'. En nu tipt Stereogum Mothers als SXSW Band To Watch.Maar Stereogum is niet alleen: The Guardian, DIYmag, MusicOMH, Line Of Best Fit: 'one of the debuts of the year so far'!When You Walk A Long Distance You Are Tired bevat 8 indiepopnummers met invloeden uit post- en mathrock. Multi-instrumentaliste Kristine Leschper die de band als soloproject startte, schreef het album grotendeels zelf. Er zijn gastbijdragen van Josh McKay (Deerhunter) en McKendrick Bearden (Grand Vapids). Sinds 2014 werd de line-up uitgebreid met Matthew Anderegg, ook al een multi-instrumentalist, and gitarist Drew Kirby.
