New Lows^(US)

New Lows is één van de zwaarste bands uit de uitgebreide hardcore/punk/metalscene van Boston. Hun tweede fullalbum Harvest of the Carcass (2011) is één van de stevigste releases ooit op het Deathwish Inc-label. De groep heeft een brutale, bloeddoorlopen sound, en een fikse achterban dankzij een ongelooflijke livereputatie, niet in het minst dankzij ‘insane front man PBoy’. New Lows vormt een welkom alternatief voor metalcore, dat de stevige muziekscene domineert; al hebben ze er wel invloeden van.Overcast, Deadguy, Damnation AD and Starkweather had a huge impact on me as a kid. But we were also from the punk/hardcore scene, so I think that helps trim the fat that bloats most metalcore bands.We’re too metallic for the punk scene and too punk for the metal scene.
