Sleepmakeswaves^(AU)

Sleepmakeswaves ontstond in 2006 in Sydney, met als doel dramatische, dynamische songs te maken. In 2007 bracht de band een demo uit, die heel wat buzz teweegbracht. Het viertal dook meteen de studio in en blikte nog 2 EP's in. Hun fanbase bleef gestaag groeien, met airplay in Australië en op de BBC, en meer dan 50000 mensen die tracks downloadden. Eind 2011 releasete SMW hun studiodebuut …and so we destroyed everything op Bird’s Robe Records. Het album gaat veel verder dan het label post-rock, en is een perfect samengaan van krachtige melodieën en rijke productie, met memorabele climaxen. Het gaat verder dan het label post-rock. Singles ‘(HELLO) CLOUD MOUNTAIN,’ het onheilspellende ‘IN LIMBS AND JOINTS,’ en het grootse ‘NOW WE RISE AND WE ARE EVERYWHERE’ kregen airplay op de Australische zenders Triple J, FBi, Edge, RTR, 4ZZZ, PBS en RRR. Het buitenland volgde snel, met de BBC en college radio CMJ in de VS. Hun weergaloze live reputatie zorgde voor support-plaatsjes bij 65daysofstatic, Tortoise, Mono, Pelican, Russian Circles, Boris en Karnivool. In 2012 tourden ze Australië, de VS en vervolgens Europa, met een tussenstop in België op Dunk Festival. Datzelfde jaar won …and so we destroyed everything een ARIA Award (het Australische antwoord op de Grammy's), wat hen een propvol tourschema voor 2013 bezorgde.
