Soham De(UK)
'It’s been (it still is) a process of trying to find what I want from
music and what kind of music makes me happy, in terms of writing and
performing."
Soham wrote his first song at 10 years old and this was the beginning of a love for music and creative writing. As the songwriting flourished throughout the years, he would also regularly perform to close friends.
Now, a 20 year old singer-songwriter from Kings Lynn, Soham is based in Durham for university but he's still finding time to write and tour.
Making a name for himself amongst his contemporaries, Soham's been longlisted for Glastonbury Festival’s Emerging Talent Competition 2017 (following a personal recommendation from the Editor of The Line Of Best Fit); played sets for BBC Introducing in Norfolk and the North East, and Amazing Radio; performed on BBC 1 Look East, multiple Sofar Sounds shows,SBTV, Secret Sessions, the Never Fade Sessions, numerous Oxjam Festivals, London Live, and Cambridge TV; been featured on The Unsigned Guide, and the Newcastle Chronicle; and placed third in both the Best of British - Unsigned Music Awardsand FAME Music’s ‘Stripped Back’ competition.
Headlining various festivals in the North East, as well as gaining a slot at Boardmasters Festival and playing such venues as the O2 Academy Newcastle, The UEA, The Cambridge Junction, The Sage, The Hospital Club, The Bedford, and The Groucho Club, and having recently sold out his first headline show at Empty Shop in Durham (and with a near-sold out headline Newcastle show in early 2017), Soham De is quickly making ground in the live circuit and is well and truly becoming an artist to watch.
