Stick To Your Guns^(US)

Sinds de oprichting van Stick to Your Guns, meer dan veertien jaar geleden, is de band uitgegroeid tot een van de hardst werkende groepen van de wereldwijde hardcore scene. Een mix van krachtige, moderne hardcore met een pakkend refreinen landde ze ondersteunende slots voor onder meer Terror, Architects and Parkway Drive . 

Hun laatste EP Better Ash Than Dust is het meest politiek uitgesproken STYG album tot nu toe. In plaats van anderen met de vinger te gaan wijzen besloot de band voor dit album binnen in te gaan kijken. Het resultaat is één van de eerlijkste albums die je dit jaar gaat horen en overbrugt de kloof tussen de hardcore roots van de band en de meer toegankelijke politieke punkrock van hun leeftijdsgenoten Rise Against. 

Gitarist Josh James merkt op: I really wanted to intentionally create an album that sonically reflects the feeling of modern life: depression, anger, fear, hope, happiness, forgiveness and clarity. A feeling of breaking through the dark shit in life and the journey of the struggle that ends up elevating you to a new, smarter, stronger, better version of yourself. The lyrics and feeling Jesse put into each song constantly blew me away, his words were the perfect fit to the songs. I’ve created a lot of music in my life, but right now I can’t help but feel that ‘True View‘ is the album I’ve always wanted to be part of.
